Mediterranean anchovies in extra virgin olive oil—a staple in Sicilian cuisine. This prized ingredient gives that “je ne sais quoi” to many Sicilian pasta dishes to the classic sfincione which are melded with other flavors to elevate those dishes. Alternatively can be simply enjoyed with warm crusty bread and butter, or with  lemon and mozzarella drizzled with olive oil.
